Masha Ma FW15 | Fashion Show | Paris Fashion Week
The pronounced geometric lines on Masha Ma’s FW15 collection was drawn from a visit to the Suzhou Museum in China, a monumental structure last designed by Pritzker prize-winning architect I.M.Pei.
What fascinated me most was the use of varied textured materials in each ensemble as the models catwalked by in the fashion show. My favourites were the mixture of quilting, fine twills and ribbing amongst the stone-washed, cracked jacquard, gauze and velour leather.
I rank Masha Ma’s collection the top three of all the fashion shows attended for FW15/16 in terms of daily wearability. I love the bomber jackets and yielding flared trousers. I can see myself pairing them with pretty ballerinas for client meetings or Converses for my photography work as well as doing the grocery runs.
I think Masha Ma has been clever at fusing the geometric inspiration with textures and earthy tones to make this collection feel very plump and lush to wear this coming fall and winter.
